Jody Martin joined the Southwest Center as an Educational Consultant after retiring from 19 years in education. She began her career as a 5th ELA teacher, moved to 6th ELA and then to teaching 3rd grade for the next 7 years. After completing her Masters in Educational leadership, Jody served 6 years as a building principal and 4 years as Director of Early Childhood. She brings her experience as an ELA teacher and leader to the center. She has thorough knowledge of the Science of Reading through LETRS training. Jody is fun-loving and energetic. Her goal is to provide teachers with knowledge and strategies they can take back to their classroom to guide instruction.
